St George’s Day Parade

Date: 21st Apr 2024 Author: Damian
Today our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts with Edmund Hilary Explorers joined the other Whitton Scout groups and community organisations in the St George’s Day Parade.

We paraded from the meeting point at Nelson School up the High Street to Montrose Avenue. There we waited for those behind to finish before parading back to Nelson School.

The Young People were magnificent and we were very grateful for the great support of families and friends who waved, applauded and took photos along our way.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
