About Us

Our aim is to create an environment within which our youth members can reach their full potential.

The wide range of activities we offer for girls and boys from all backgrounds means that there is something for everyone to enjoy!

3rd Whitton Scout Group was founded in 1938 to offer the boys of St. Edmund’s Catholic Church in Whitton a rich and varied programme of Scouting Skills and adventures. Whilst we were founded by the parish of St Edmunds and retain links with the parish and school, we welcome everyone to our Scout group regardless of faith. We are a diverse and inclusive Group.

The Scout Group has thrived and grown and has seen many generations of girls and boys who benefitted from the activities and experiences that only Scouts can offer. 3rd Whitton is one of 24 Scout Groups across the Richmond upon Thames District.

For older Scouts, 14-18, we host Edmund Hilary Explorer Unit – one of 12 Explorer Units across Richmond upon Thames District.

Did you know that across our District, there are some 2,380 youth members – supported by over 570 leaders!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
