Support from the Jack Petchey Foundation
The Jack Petchey Foundation is well known for recognising the achievements of young people across the country. The foundation also recognises that these achievements would not come about without the support of teachers and volunteers.
We are very proud that our Scout Lead Volunteer, Ted Sanders, has been recognised for his service to Scouting.
Ted took over as Scout Leader in September of 2019 and was an intrinsic part of the team that kept 3rd Whitton going through the Covid lockdown, in particular by organising our online Zoom meetings to keep our young people engaged with Scouting.
With this Leader’s Award comes a grant of £1000 which the Exec expanded to £1300 to acquire two Bell Tents and a Tarp Parachute Shelter.
This brand new equipment has now been purchased and has seen its first outing at the Summer Camp that got underway on 18 August 2024.
