A cycle of badgework has been programmed which lasts over 2 years. During this cycle, each of the 6 Challenge Badges will be offered so that a Cub who is in St Edmunds over that period should have the opportunity to earn the Chief Scout Silver Award, the highest badge which a Cub Scout can earn. To get the Silver Award, you have to get all 6 Challenge Badges!
Other activity badges will be offered over the 2 year cycle - indoor badges will be offered in the winter (collectors, artists etc) whilst outdoor badges will be offered in the summer (map reading, global conservation etc). These will be interspersed with staged badges such as nights away, hikes away (summer) or information technology and emergency aid (winter).
What badges do you want to do? Click here for a sheet, which lists all the badges available to Cubs. Tick off the ones you want to do and return it to your Cub Scout Skills Instructor. The more popular choices will be offered earlier than currently planned.
We are currently offering the opportunity for gaining the Emergency Aid stage 1 or stage 2 badge, by home study and completing a test sheet - click here for details of the test sheet and the accompanying study sheets! For some cubs, completing stages 1 and 2 will allow them to earn their Community Challenge Badge.
We are also offering the Astronomer badge. Click here for the requirements. We will be completing the badge during Autumn 2008.
Many of you have asked about the Chef badge - click here for the requirements and confirmation slip for your parents/guardian to sign.

The first two weeks after the summer holidays will be reserved for completing the Fitness Challenge Badge and, as a part of the Challenge, we will include the Athlete Badge as well. You’ll need to wear sports kit to our Friday night meetings! Click here for the fitness challenge requirements.
We then move onto the Global Challenge Badge, which we intend to complete by Christmas. After Christmas we will undertake the Creative Challenge Badge and then after Easter 2009 the final Promise Challenge Badge!
Those Cubs attending camps will gain credits to the Outdoor Challenge Badge and gain their Nights Away badge. Additional activity badges may be available during camps - don’t miss out!
