3rd Whitton Scout Group

3rd Whitton (Ibn Batutta) and Petersham & Ham Joint Camp
3rd Whitton (Ibn Batutta) and Petersham & Ham Scout Groups had a joint camp from 15th to 17th June 2007 at Douglas House Meadow. Approximately 40 people attended in total.
On Friday evening there was a night hike to Richmond park. Next morning there was a kit inspection and then the cubs learnt about shelter building and fire making.
There was a tracking expedition to Ham house – on the way we saw Prince Charles at Ham Polo Club. On the Saturday evening we were entertained to an amazing meal cooked by an Afghan family.
Of course, there was the customary campfire. The cubs cooked some bread on sticks.
On Sunday we had an amazing day out on the boats – we went as far as Marble Hill park. The weather was fantastic and everybody had a brilliant time.
A special thanks to Karin Noble and her team from Petersham and Ham Sea Scouts.
