When we got to Marble Hill Park, we gathered together in a marquee.  The Junior Scout Commissioner cut his speech in half due to it being such a hot day!  He presented a medal to one of the leaders for services to scouting. We sang the National Anthem – God Save the Queen, we listened to a band perform and to some of the beavers who helped entertain the troops.

We finished the morning with a juicy hotdog and ketchup and a drink.  Phil gave us a special centenary badge to help us commemorate the day.

Alex’s Blog: We met on Richmond Green to get ready for the St George’s Day Parade. St George is the patron saint of scouting and of course England.  It was a very important day for all the uniformed groups.

All of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Young Leaders and Leaders from Richmond came together to celebrate one hundred years of Scouting.

We marched from Richmond Green to Marble Hill Park.  The traffic came to a stand still and there were lots of crowds along the route to cheer us as we marched.  We held up ten buses, five of which were going to Hammersmith.
