Third Whitton Scouts recently took part in the District Shooting Competition which was held on the 9 March.
Prior to the competition, we had two practice sessions on consecutive Fridays - 16th & 23rd February, where we could get our skills up to scratch! The shooting took place at Twickenham Rifle Range.
At the District competition, held a week later, the 3rd Whitton team came overall 5th - a commendable result out of the 26 teams who took part. 1st prize went to 2nd Whitton. In second place was 1st St Margarets and 3rd position was St Mary’s Barnes.
Special mention to David who did extremely well for coming 3rd overall in the competition and 1st prize in the Under 12’s with a score of 123. He’ll be getting a certificate from the Assistant District Commissioner Ian Hardy.

On the 16th February our 3rd Whitton Scouts went rifle shooting (to practice for
the District competition). First we were split into two teams. After we were split
into teams, there was a talk given about safety on the rifle range. I thought that
it was impressed on us that if we did something wrong you would be sent off.
On the following week, I went to the practice session with my best friends. Myself,
Anna, Maria, David and Neil all got into the competition.
We all enjoyed it and can’t wait until we go shooting again.
